Template:Non-free architectural work

This image is a two-dimensional representation of a building or architectural work. It is believed that the use of low-resolution versions of such images

solely to illustrate the proposed building in question,
on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information.

To the uploader:

Please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
This tag should only be used for images of architectural works. Do not use it for images by others.

To patrollers and administrators: If this image has an 'appropriate' rationale please append |image has rationale=yes as a parameter to the license template.

Note:As soon as construction is completed on the building, this image should be deleted and replaced with a freely licensed photograph of the actual building. If this photograph was taken in a country which has freedom of panorama for buildings and architectural works which do not restrict commercial use (such as the United States; see here for a full list of which countries are OK), consider uploading to Wikimedia Commons instead, which allows other Wikimedia projects to use the image. If there is no freedom of panorama provision in that country, then upload it locally under a free license, appending the tag {{FoP-USonly}}.

Description

This template should be used for concept art of buildings or architectural work in the planning stage. Once the building is completed, the non-free image should be deleted and replaced with a photograph released under a free license.

If there is FOP in the country that is compatible with our policies, consider uploading to Wikimedia Commons instead. Otherwise, United States FOP is still valid as the English Wikipedia is responsible only to US law, but the image will not be permitted on Commons. In that case use {{FoP-USonly}} along with a free license under which to release your photograph.

This template categorizes images into Category:Non-free architectural works.
