'''J. Tuomas Harviainen''' is a Finnish larp researcher and game designer. His current research is focused on approaching role-playing as a phenomenon well beyond the scope of just role-playing games. A doctoral candidate in game studies at doctor of philosophy from the from the Department School of Information Studies and Interactive MediaSciences, University of Tampere, Harviainen’s minilarps have been run in at least a dozen 14 countries. He sits on is the editorial board current executive editor of the [[International Journal of Roleplaying]].
In 2010 he won [[The Larpwriter Challenge]] for his game "[[The Tribunal]]," a game about the mechanics of oppression.
