This template also returns the date, hidden by CSS, in the [[Wikipedia:ISO 8601|ISO 8601]] format needed by one or more of the following [[Wikipedia:microformat|microformat]]s:
*[[Wikipedia:hAtom|hAtom]] (<code>class="updated"</code>)*[[Wikipedia:hAudio|hAudio]] (<code>class="published"</code>)*[[Wikipedia:hCalendar|hCalendar]] (<code>class="dtstart"</code>)*[[Wikipedia:hCard|hCard]] (<code>class="bday"</code>)
usually, but not always, within infobox or similar templates, or tables.
Its use in hCard is for organizations, venues and similar; use {{tl|Birth date}} or {{tl|Birth date and age}} for people.
Similarly, {{tl|End date}} returns the date as [[Wikipedia:hCalendar|hCalendar]]'s (<code>class="dtend"</code>).
