This is a documentation subpage for Template:American Factfinder. It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page. |
Template:American Factfinder generates external links to U.S. Census 2000 demographic data of cities, towns, counties, and states. Its primary purpose is to simplify the creation of URL links in references for population in articles. It is meant to be used both to generate stand-alone links and as a backend for Template:Cite American Factfinder for article references.
Generates a link to a PDF from http://censtats.census.gov/data/ that includes
- General population totals, age, gender, race, and number of households.
- Social characteristics, such as ethnicity, education, and marital status.
- Economic data, such as median income, poverty levels, and employment.
- Housing data, including number and type of housing units as well as home values.
Note: Template is only for the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. It will not generate information for the other U.S. territories.
