Det Okända Alternate Reality Concept was one of the first Alternate Reality Game like explorations made and influenced later work in the fields of larp, pervasive games and alternate reality games in Sweden and abroad. Through the company Stockholmnet Carl Heath employed Martin Ericsson to play the role of a conspiracy theorist for three months, living in a small old house outside of Stockholm for the duration of the activity. Over a short period, Martin Ericsson became more and more obsessed about conspiracies in general, and one about the movie Det Okända, which according to Martins character was a conspiracy and front for the Swedish secret services. The whole concept was an explorative marketing operation for the movie Det Okända, with Sandrew Metronome and Bredbandsbolaget backing the project.
