Pay and Play is a design concept for larps where participants (ideally) don't need to do anything other than pay for the larp, everything else is supplied by the organizers. This usually means the participants receive costumes, Pre-written characters and relations, and that all logistical issues are already taken care of (lodging, food etc.).

Controversy

Some larps, announced as Pay and Play have turned out to require much more effort, time and investment on the part of the participants, leading some to question the use of the PnP term and coming up with other terms such as Costume Provided or the somewhat derogatory term Pay and Pray.
