The function of the {{sic}} template is to mark text that is written as intended even with possible spelling errors that should not be changed by an editor.
Furthermore bots such as AutoWikiBrowser will usually skip content of templates when looking for spelling errors. This way we can prevent that e.g. Enmark is changed to Emmark.
Example usage:
The players' profile pictures were {{sic|automagically}} updated.
