Witches of Ästad Farm was a larp about interned witches in an alternate history Swedish world war II.

Setting and Themes

Lesbianism, witches and prison in a kitchen-sink magical setting.

Background

Karin Edman had a vivid dream in 2015 that she described to the Facebook group Larp Women Unite. Members of the group encouraged her to make the dreamed larp into a real larp and in November 2016 that happened.

Music

The larp has had different theme songs, in 2016 and it was a cover of ''Creep,'' recorded by Post Modern Jukebox, in 2017 an artist was paid to record a cover of Leonard Cohens song ''You Want it Darker'' and in 2018 the event paid the musicians of Mary Read to write them the song ''Truth to Tell''.
