Inter-immersion is a concept introduced by Mike Pohjola as a way to explain what the reality of a larp is in Larp Manifesting from 2001. It is the idea that everyone in a larp not only plays (or immerses) in their own character, but also supports the other players in theirs. This constructed shared social reality is at the heart of what makes larp feel real according to Stenros and Montola (2019).
