Shortcut

Now commons dated/doc is a template to categorise tagged files into Category:Wikipedia files on Wikimedia Commons, or to Category:Wikipedia files with the same name on Wikimedia Commons, if no parameters are given. When substituted, it automatically adds the current date to {{Now Commons}}.

Use {{subst:ncd}} or {{subst:ncd|File:New filename.png}}.
