New World Magischola was the largest Nordic style larp organized in the United States, though not the first. NWM was the first larp to introduce the [[Check-in|OK Check-In]] safety mechanic, and the first to test [[Trine Lise Lindahl|Trine Lise Lindahl's]] and [[Johanna Koljonen|Johanna Koljonen's]] "[[Lookdown]]" bow-out mechanic. The pronoun-correction mechanic was also first introduced at New World Magischola.
The larp has spawned a children's week-long larp adventure, Magischola Prep, which introduces young people ages 11-17 11–17 to collaborative larp concepts.
