A Week in is a popular name for events leading up to weekend larp events like conferences and festivals. It's been popularised by Knutepunkt where it's the custom to hold events in the hosting country during the week leading up to the conference.
The week is usually a mix of social events, larps, talks and tourist sightseeing.
