'''Alexandria.dk''' is a public searchable database of Nordic roleplaying conventions and the games (scenarios, LARPS, designer board games) run on these. The site has been under development since 2000 and was publicly announced on the Danish webforum [[RPGFORUM]] at March 1, 2003. It was based on the database model for [[Project R'lyeh]], also coded by [[Peter Brodersen]].
As of October 2021 February 2023 the site contains information for more than 916,900 000 scenarios, 58,500 000 persons, and 12,400 000 conventions (including 700 850 from Denmark, 500 650 from Sweden, 200 from United States, 150 from Ireland, and 100 from Norway).
Some game authors publish the full game as a digital download at the site. A diskette symbol next to a game title denotes that it has downloadable content. About 12,900 300 scenarios are available for download.
Furthermore , hundreds of periodicals such as magazines, fanzines and club newsletters have been registered with information of more than 37,500 articles. More than 300 issues of magazines have been put online for download as well.
The database is run by [[Peter Brodersen]] and opened in 2003. Several volunteers help maintaining and updating the information as editors. In 2020 the source code as well as an API to download all the content from the site was released. == USB mirror ==In 2023 Alexandria produced 200 USB drives with the sponsorship of Bastard Café, Copenhagen. These USB drives contains an offline version of all of Alexandria as of April 2023, with more than 2,000 scenarios for download, taking up more than 35 GB of storage. About 100 drives were handed out for free at [[Knutepunkt|Knudepunkt]] 2023 where Peter also organized a talk about the project. The purpose is to preserve the data and to make sure that the site isn't gatekeeping information.
